Adam Sandler is known for his comedic talent, but he's also a huge basketball fan! Before taking the stage for his "You're My Best Friend Tour," Sandler has been making headlines by playing basketball with college teams.
Sandler's South Carolina Show & Hoops Session
Before his show at Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina, Sandler joined members of the South Carolina men's basketball team for a friendly game. Several players, including Gamecocks transfer guard Josh Gray and senior forward Nordin Kapic, shared photos of the experience on their Instagram stories. Sophomore guard Cam Scott also posted from the show itself.
During the show, actor and comedian Jonathan Loughran, a frequent collaborator with Sandler, made a surprise appearance. Loughran sported a Saquon Barkley jersey and gave a shoutout to Dawn Staley, the renowned coach, who hails from Philadelphia and is a devoted Eagles fan. Comedian Sam Morril, who opened for Sandler, showed his support by wearing a South Carolina basketball shirt.
Peace University Pick-Up Game
Sandler's basketball enthusiasm didn't stop in South Carolina. Before his Raleigh performance, he also played a pick-up game at Peace University. The university shared photos of Sandler on the court, proving his dedication to the sport even while on tour.
This isn't the first time Sandler has combined his tour with basketball. Prior to a show in Florida, he played with members of the FGCU men's basketball team. It seems Sandler's tour is as much about basketball as it is about comedy!
