Alan Ritchson to Star in Navy SEAL Thriller Produced by Sylvester Stallone!
Exciting news for fans of action films! Alan Ritchson, known for his role in "Reacher," is set to star as Navy SEAL Mike Thornton in an upcoming action thriller produced by none other than Sylvester Stallone. This project falls under Ritchson's three-picture acting deal with Amazon MGM Studios.
The film, directed by Patrick Hughes (The Hitman's Bodyguard), will depict the true story of Mike Thornton's heroic actions during the final days of the Vietnam War. Thornton led a desperate last stand after five men were trapped behind enemy lines in North Vietnam. Outnumbered by a significantly larger enemy force, they fought their way through intense enemy fire, eventually making a harrowing retreat into the South China Sea.
Thornton's bravery is further exemplified by his hours-long swim through hostile waters, carrying both a gravely wounded lieutenant and a fellow soldier to safety. This act of valor earned him the Congressional Medal of Honor.
This role promises to be Ritchson's most intense yet, showcasing his capabilities as an action star. The film joins Ritchson's growing list of projects with Amazon, including "The Man with the Bag," a Christmas action film co-starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, and the highly anticipated fourth season of "Reacher." Ritchson is also involved in the dialogue-free thriller "Motor City."
