Former Tennessee Titans Taylor Lewan and Will Compton, the dynamic duo behind the wildly popular "Bussin' With The Boys" podcast, are making a major leap into the world of sports broadcasting. They've inked a deal with ESPN to appear across various platforms throughout the upcoming football season, bringing their unique brand of humor and insightful commentary to a wider audience.
'Bussin' With The Boys' Hits the Big Time
Lewan and Compton's ESPN debut is slated for September 4th, where they'll primarily be featured on the morning show "Get Up" alongside host Mike Greenberg. However, fans can also expect to see them popping up on "SportsCenter" and other studio programs throughout the season. Their appearances on "Get Up" are expected to be on Thursdays during the season and a combo of in-studio (with their bus in tow) and remote work.
"What Taylor and Will have built with 'Bussin’ With The Boys' is impressive, and it’s clear to us they know how to connect with fans,” said ESPN content president Burke Magnus. “Their energy and chemistry will be great additions to the roster of personalities across ESPN content, especially alongside Greeny and the 'Get Up' crew.”
From the Locker Room to the Studio
"We're fired up to join our new teammates at ESPN this fall," Lewan and Compton said in a joint statement. "We’ve always said we’re just two guys who love ball and love telling stories, and now we get to bring 'Bussin’ With The Boys' to the biggest stage in sports. Whether it’s breaking down plays or bringing the locker room to life, we’re here to entertain, share our takes, and have some fun along the way.”
The "Bussin' With The Boys" podcast has cultivated a massive following since its launch in 2019, boasting 581,000 followers on Instagram and 287,300 on X. The podcast, which went independent at the start of this year after a lucrative sponsorship with FanDuel, has also recently partnered with Bud Light. Travis Kelce has even appeared as a guest.
This season marks the first time since launching the podcast that neither Compton nor Lewan will be actively playing in the NFL. In addition to their ESPN deal, they've also launched "The Locker Room: CFB" podcast with Josh Pate and are developing a new show called "Slips and Picks 500" centered around NFL betting, featuring former NFL player Delanie Walker.
