Victor Robles Back in Action: Mariners Roster Update
The Seattle Mariners have announced a significant roster move, reinstating outfielder Victor Robles from the 60-day Injured List. The announcement was made by Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Justin Hollander. Robles is set to be active for tonight's game!
Robles, 28, had been sidelined since April 7 with a left shoulder dislocation suffered while making a leaping catch against San Francisco. He was subsequently moved to the 60-day IL on April 23. Prior to his injury, Robles was hitting a solid .273 with 3 runs, 3 doubles, 3 RBI, and 3 stolen bases in 10 games. He was also riding an 8-game hitting streak.
During his rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma, Robles showcased his skills, batting .310 with 4 runs, 3 doubles, 1 home run, and 9 RBI in 8 games. His performance certainly earned him a quick return.
Since joining the Mariners last season, Robles has been a valuable asset, batting .319 with impressive stolen base numbers. He's a key component to the Mariners' lineup.
Dylan Moore Designated for Assignment
In a corresponding move, infielder/outfielder Dylan Moore has been designated for assignment. Moore, 33, has played in 88 games this season, batting .193 with 9 home runs and 19 RBI. While he had a strong start, being named AL Player of the Week earlier this season, his recent performance likely contributed to the decision.
The Mariners' 40-man roster remains full at 40 players.
Robles' Background and Career
Before joining the Mariners, Robles spent eight seasons with the Washington Nationals, even being a starting center fielder on their 2019 World Series-winning team. He originally signed with Washington as an international free agent from the Dominican Republic.
Mariners fans will be eager to see Robles back on the field tonight!
