Ryne Sandberg Funeral: How to Watch the Cubs Legend's Service Live

Chicago Cubs legend Ryne Sandberg, who passed away on July 28 at the age of 65 after a battle with metastatic prostate cancer, will be laid to rest on Friday. Fans have several options to pay their respects and watch the service live.

How to Watch Ryne Sandberg's Funeral

While the funeral service itself is private, the Chicago Cubs are hosting a public memorial outside Wrigley Field at Gallagher Way, starting at 9:30 a.m. CT. The service will be live-streamed on a jumbo screen at Gallagher Way for fans to watch together.

For those unable to attend in person, the funeral will also be streamed online via the NBC Chicago streaming channel and on the NBC Chicago and Telemundo Chicago websites and mobile apps. The Marquee Sports Network app and WGN 9 will also carry the stream. Radio listeners can tune in to 670 The Score.

The private funeral service is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. CT. The public tribute at Gallagher Way will run from 9:30 a.m. to noon. No tickets are required to attend the public memorial.

The Cubs organization will also display Sandberg's personal memorabilia collection, now part of the Wrigley Field archives, providing another way for fans to connect with the legacy of the Hall of Famer who played 15 seasons with the team.
