The Soulshine at Sea 3 cruise, headlined by Michael Franti and originally scheduled for November 4-8, 2025, has been canceled. The announcement came after several artists, including Dispatch, Maggie Rose, Hirie, and Liz Vice, withdrew from the lineup. The cruise, organized by festival promoter Sixthman, was set to sail from Miami to Cozumel, Mexico, aboard the Norwegian Jewel, offering a blend of live music, wellness activities, and cooking demonstrations.
Sixthman posted a statement on the Soulshine at Sea website, stating, "In light of recent events, the Soulshine at Sea with Michael Franti event scheduled for November 4-8, 2025, is cancelled. We are actively working to announce a new event that will sail November 4-8, 2025. Additional details will be shared tomorrow, Monday, August 18."
Michael Franti addressed the cancellation in a statement, acknowledging a "relationship" with an unnamed artist outside of his marriage. He stated, "I’m aware of the recent posts this artist made about our relationship, and while I support her need to express herself publicly, the relationship was completely consensual, based on mutual feelings and attraction."
Franti continued, "I vehemently dispute any version of the story that says otherwise. I will however take full accountability for not better recognizing the power imbalance as she was younger than me, and I was the headliner on tour. For those reasons alone, I never should have allowed the relationship to become romantic."
The artist withdrawals reportedly stemmed from recent allegations involving an unnamed accuser and alleged abuser. Several artists cited these concerns as the reason for their decision to pull out of the Soulshine at Sea 3 event.
The cancellation leaves fans disappointed, but Sixthman is working to announce a new event for the same dates.
