Teenager Ricardo Carrero Chico Dies in Route 590 Crash for Rochester

A sad incident occurred on Route 590 in Rochester, New York, on July 22nd, leading to the untimely death of a 17-year-old teenager. Monroe County sheriff's deputies have identified the deceased as Ricardo Carrero Chico. He was involved in a multi-vehicle accident that caused significant traffic delays and has left the community in mourning.

According to reports, Ricardo Carrero Chico was driving a sedan northbound on Route 590 when he lost control of the vehicle. The car crossed the median and entered several southbound lanes, colliding with two other vehicles. The tragic event occurred around 2:35 p.m. and resulted in Chico being pronounced dead at the scene, as confirmed by sheriff's spokeswoman Amy Young.

"Our thoughts are with Ricardo’s family and friends at this difficult time," Young stated, expressing condolences on behalf of the Sheriff's Department.

The accident led to the closure of a section of Route 590's southbound lanes for several hours, causing substantial traffic delays in both directions throughout the evening. Emergency services worked diligently to clear the scene and investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Three other individuals who were in the southbound vehicles involved sustained injuries but are expected to recover. They were transported to local hospitals with minor injuries.
