FC Barcelona has officially sold Pablo Torre (22) to Mallorca. This transfer helps the club free up salary mass to achieve the coveted 1:1 rule of La Liga. The deal, estimated at around €5 million, allows Barcelona to free up €1 million, retaining 50% rights for future profits.
Additionally, the amortization of Torre's salary, previously around €4 million gross, frees up approximately €2.4 million. Overall, the operation totals nearly €3.5 million. This, combined with Ansu Fati's loan to Monaco, brings Barcelona's 'fair play' relief to almost €12 million.
Torre's Journey to Mallorca
Pablo Torre's move to RCD Mallorca is now official, with the player signing for four seasons. Barcelona will receive €5 million for 50% of the player's rights, retaining a buy-back option and a percentage of any future sale profits. This provides much-needed financial flexibility for Joan Laporta's Barcelona to improve their La Liga Fair Play situation.
Torre was signed by Barcelona in the summer of 2022 after impressing at Racing de Santander for €6 million. However, he struggled to gain consistent playing time under both Xavi Hernández and Hansi Flick.
First Training Session
Torre has already joined Mallorca's training session. He was warmly welcomed by his new teammates and participated in his first preseason session after returning from the Under-21 European Championship. He will wear the number 20 jersey, previously worn by Chiquinho.
