Former GIHOC Boss, Kofi Jumah, Arrested for Alleged Vehicle Theft

Accra, Ghana - The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service dey hold former Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries, Mr. Maxwell Kofi Jumah, sake of say dem accuse am of stealing company vehicles. DCOP Lydia Yaako Donkor, Director-General of CID, talk am for press briefing wey happen for Accra on Monday, June 30, 2025.

According to DCOP Donkor, GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited file formal complaint wey accuse Mr. Jumah of taking company vehicles wey no dey follow law after he lef office. Dem obtain warrant, and right now dem dey keep the former GIHOC boss for CID headquarters wey dey Accra.

“As of dis afternoon, we don retrieve three vehicles wey dey connect to the case,” DCOP Donkor talk. “Mr. Jumah dey help us with investigation wey dey go on, and we go take appropriate legal steps.”

Police no talk the total number of vehicles wey dey inside or how much dem dey cost. CID talk say dem still dey investigate the case well well.

Mr. Jumah, wey be Mayor of Kumasi from 2001 to 2004, also be Member of Parliament for Asokwa from 2005 to 2012. He come be Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries for 2017 till he lef for 2025.
