According to TMZ, Reid claims she believes her drink was spiked at the hotel bar. She recounted leaving her drink unattended while stepping out for a cigarette. Upon returning, she noticed a napkin covering her glass, which she didn't recall placing there. After consuming the drink, she says she has no memory until waking up in the hospital.
A representative for Reid told People that the actress believes her drink was "tampered with" and that she "has filed a police report." However, police initially stated that no such report had been filed as of Monday. Rosemont police later confirmed they are investigating after speaking with Reid on Tuesday, and an online report has been created to document the incident.
"She is cooperating fully with the investigation. Tara is recovering and asks for privacy during this traumatic time," Reid's representative stated. "She also urges everyone to be careful, watch your drinks and never leave them unattended, as this can happen to anyone."
Video footage obtained by TMZ shows Reid appearing disoriented and being assisted into a wheelchair. She was seen being taken out of the hotel on a stretcher by paramedics. Reid was in the Chicago suburb for an appearance at the Chicago Sports Spectacular event on Sunday before the incident occurred.
