Amaniampong Senior High School from Mampong in the Ashanti Region has caused a major upset in the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) 2025! Making their quarterfinals debut, they've secured a historic entry into the semi-finals, beating out established schools Osei Tutu SHS and St James Seminary SHS in a thrilling contest.
The final scores were Amaniampong SHS with 43 points, Osei Tutu SHS with 40 points, and St James Seminary SHS with 30 points. The competition was fierce, with the lead changing hands several times throughout the rounds.
Amaniampong SHS initially took the lead in the first round, but Osei Tutu SHS surged ahead in the second round, showcasing their speed and accuracy. However, the 'Problem of the Day' round proved challenging for all three schools, with none managing to score any points.
Amaniampong and Osei Tutu rebounded strongly in the fourth round, demonstrating their knowledge in the 'True or False' stage. In the end, Amaniampong SHS held their nerve and secured their place in the semi-finals after all schools answered a riddle correctly in the final round.
Master Nicholas Gandrin, a contestant from Amaniampong SHS, expressed his excitement and gratitude to God, old students, teachers, and students for their unwavering support. He also voiced his confidence that they could win the entire competition.
