The Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) don clear Ghanaian businessmen Daniel McKorley, wey everybody know as McDan, and Richard Nii Armah-Quaye from any bad doing. This come after dem do proper investigation into their money mata.
Before, dem freeze the accounts of these two big men as part of investigation wey involve many agencies. Dem dey look into some money mata wey dem suspect no correct. But after some months of checking every small thing, the FIC don unfreeze the accounts, so dem fit get their money back fully.
The Chief Executive Officer of the FIC, Kwadwo Twum Boafo, talk about this matter for GHOne television on October 29, 2025. E say dem make the decision after dem finish investigate and dem no find any evidence of crime or say dem do anyhow with money.
“McDan’s mata don settle. That be why I dey always talk say we no dey do anyhow because we hate person. You fit talk to am... Dem don unfreeze ein accounts. Dem freeze Richard Nii Armah-Quaye ein accounts, but dem don unfreeze am now because dem see say no need to carry am go front,” Ing. Twum Boafo talk.
E continue dey explain say the two men cooperate well with the investigators during the process. This make am easy for the FIC and the agencies wey dey work with dem to check if their business and money mata dey legit.
“E come here, sit down with we and explain everything wey e dey do give we well, and problem no dey. As I talk, we dey treat people fairly and I no get problem with anybody,” e add.
The FIC boss stress say the Centre no dey do anything because of politics or target some people specially. E say dem dey follow evidence and do things the right way.
He talk say the agency ein work na to protect Ghana ein money system from anyhow doing, not to trouble citizens or do anyhow to dem.
