Russell M. Nelson, the leader of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, pass away on Sept. 27, 2025, at the age of 101. The church, wey people know am as the Mormon or LDS church, be the most prominent religion for Utah, with about half of the state population listed as members.

Legacy of Russell M. Nelson
Russell Marion Nelson born for Salt Lake City, Utah, on Sept. 9, 1924. He be a pioneer for open-heart surgery, being the first surgeon for the United States to successfully perform one on the western side of the Mississippi River. He also help develop the first heart-lung machine. He become one of the twelve apostles of the LDS church for April 1984, and later become the senior apostle and president of the church for early 2018, leading the church for 7 years.
