Denmark Beat Northern Ireland 2-1: Eriksen Scores Winning Goal!

Denmark narrowly defeated Northern Ireland 2-1 in a friendly match held in Copenhagen. Christian Eriksen secured the win for the Danes with a late goal. The match, however, wasn't all smooth sailing for the home side.

Danish Coach Expresses Concerns Despite Victory

Despite the victory, Danish coach Brian Riemer expressed concerns about his team's performance, particularly in the first 30 minutes of the game. He noted that Northern Ireland's early goal caused the Danish team to panic and lose their composure.

"The goal made our game panicky," Riemer stated. "We used too many touches, we lost our positions...we rushed things because we had the feeling of being behind." He emphasized the need for the team to manage their emotions better, especially when facing setbacks during crucial qualification matches.

Positives from the Second Half

Riemer was, however, satisfied with the team's performance in the second half, noting that they created the necessary chances. He stressed the importance of learning from the match and improving the team's ability to react to challenges on the field, both from a coaching perspective and from the players themselves.

Denmark will face Lithuania in Odense on Tuesday. The team will be looking to address the issues raised by Riemer and deliver a more consistent performance.
